I am Mom giveaway

Moms are hard on themselves. Too hard.

I am Mom is a project started by Alicja Burnette, a great photographer, to encourage moms to tell their stories without fear and to support one another. Judgment gets checked at the door.

I’m proud to say that I have a prize package that will be given away to support the I am Mom project. Here’s what you get:

I am Mom giveaway package with free goodies from Mrs Ricefield

* A Penguinaldo poster with a booklet of activities for the kiddo

* A set of my customizable note cards along with markers and stickers to decorate it

* An exclusive painting for the I am Mom project (Lioness and cub)

* A small tote bag with a reproduction of the painting.

That’s a lot of good stuff. There are more amazing prizes too, from a variety of business. You need to check this out and show some support for moms of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds. Because it really takes a village. Let’s build it.

Mrs Ricefield’s new blog and a Portland live craft event

Oh, hello there, nice to see you.

This is the new home of Mrs Ricefield’s blog. If you’re a brand new reader and would like to check out my old blog, you can find it It’s packed full of goodies and tutorials over a period of 2 years, so feel free to explore it and try out the projects.

As much as I loved it over there, it was time to move on. Mrs Ricefield is about art and illustration, and my old blog was a hodge podge of every craft you can imagine. I needed a dedicated blog for new paintings, events, news, and so on. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to maintain two blogs, so I’m saying goodbye to No Clever Craft. I’ll miss it for sure.

Speaking of missing something, if you’re in Portland (OR, not Maine) don’t miss this week’s Handmade NW event, Have a Heart for Mom Bazaar at the OHSU campus. It’s going to be insane: three days of awesome artists and crafters sharing their talent and giving 10% of the proceeds to OHSU’s Heart Research Center. I’ll be there on Wednesday, May 1st from 10 am to 5:30 pm. Be sure to stop by and say hello!
